Originally called “VANI ENGLISH SCHOOL”, now named as “VANI MARIC HIGH SCHOOL” was started in the year 1998-99 by Mr. P. Thangaswamy, M.A., M.Phil, M.Ed., and Mrs.Leela Thangaswamy, B.Sc.,M.A, M.Ed., both are teachers by profession. They are philanthropically minded and are spending their own money, so that the children of the neighborhood may get good education...

   An eminent educationist and philanthropist conceived the idea of establishing a school in Madambakkam area. Most children have to travel as far as two kilometers to East Tambaram for schooling and depend on bus or rickshows for transport. Thus this school is a boon to pupils and their parents.

   An Advisory Council of very highly qualified, experienced and well meaning persons was constituted and the Vani Matriculation School was established. The Bhoomo Pooja for the building was performed on 7th March 1998.
